FAQs

We are in-network with BCBS, Aetna, United/Optum, Cigna, and Medicare
We can also provide superbills for clients using out-of-network benefits
-
Our full rate for sessions without insurance is $200 for an intake session, $175 for individual sessions, and $200 for relationship therapy sessions
If you’re choosing self-pay, we can discuss reduced session rates. Please mention this in your initial message. All clients interested in Self-pay options will be given a good faith estimate that outlines the expected cost of treatment before starting services.
If you’re choosing out-of-network billing, we will provide a superbill for insurance reimbursement. When choosing this option, all sessions will be paid directly to the practice on the date of service and the client is responsible for submitting the superbill to their insurance for reimbursement.
-
Your session fee will depend on the benefits included in your specific insurance plan
To determine your expected cost, call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask your insurer to verify your benefits
When you call, ask:
Whether outpatient psychotherapy visits are covered
Whether your deductible applies
Your estimated cost per session
Whether the cost differs between in-office and virtual sessions
For the most accurate estimate, provide your insurance company with the following information:
Billing NPI: 1407700396
Practice name: Praxis Therapy Collective PLLC
Session (CPT) codes: Intake session (90791), Individual Therapy (90837), Relationship Therapy (90847)
Once you have completed the intake forms, we can then verify your insurance coverage and provide an estimated service fee before your first session

Yes! We offer a limited number of pro-bono openings based on therapist capacity and availability. Feel free to contact us to see if we have pro-bono openings available
If no openings are available when you contact us, we can add you to our waitlist, and we’ll notify people in the order their inquiries were received
We also offer sliding-scale rates for clients who plan to pay out of pocket. If you’re interested, please contact us to discuss availability and rates
-
If you’re interested in booking a session, contact us here to get started. In your first message, you can share a brief description of what you’d like to work on in therapy, any initial questions, your availability, and the insurance you plan to use.
Schedule an initial consultation. An initial consultation is a free, 15-minute phone or video call in which you meet with the therapist you’re interested in booking sessions with. It’s a chance to connect, learn about their approach, ask questions, and determine together whether they’re a good fit for you. They’ll also cover practical details like insurance, scheduling, and our practice policies.
After your call, you’ll receive an email from the therapist with their current availability. If you’d like to begin sessions, simply reply to the email to schedule your first appointment. Once you’re booked, you’ll receive intake paperwork and arrival instructions for your sessions, whether it’s in-person or virtual.
-
Before your appointment, you’ll receive an email invitation to the client portal where you can sign-in and complete your intake paperwork. Please submit all forms at least 24 hours before your first appointment. If the paperwork isn’t completed in advance, your therapist may need to cancel or reschedule the session until it’s completed
For a virtual appointment, you’ll receive text reminders and a session link at least 48 hours before your appointment
For an in-person appointment, please review the information from your therapist about how to access the office
Your first 1-3 sessions will focus on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and identifying your goals for therapy. Your therapist may ask about information included in your intake paperwork. You’re also encouraged to share anything that helps you feel comfortable and makes therapy a supportive experience

We believe in a non-carceral approach to mental health care. When a crisis arises, we will do everything within our scope to support de-escalation without police involvement, including connecting clients with local crisis resources and helping them find emergency services when needed
In certain situations, therapists are legally required to break confidentiality and contact emergency services. The therapist will explain these circumstances at the beginning of care so our clients understand when that may be necessary
We believe in informed consent and collaborative crisis planning. Whenever possible, we will work with our clients in advance to create a crisis plan and respect their autonomy and decisions around emergency support

Therapists are required to follow HIPAA privacy regulations and protect client’s personal and identifiable health information. Our practice uses secure messaging and HIPAA-compliant platforms to communicate and store protected health information (PHI)
We do not use AI note-taking tools during sessions, and we do not integrate AI into our practice operations

We ask that clients cancel sessions with at least 24 hrs notice, for sessions cancelled before the 24-hour mark, there is no fee
Any session cancelled with less than 24-hours notice is considered a late cancellation and is subject to a cancellation fee of $130 for individuals and $150 for relationship therapy sessions. These fees are charged to the card on file and are not billable by insurance. We charge this fee to ensure therapists are still compensated for the time that they blocked off for the anticipated appointment
If a client does not arrive for the session within 10 minutes and does not inform the therapist they are running late or respond to the therapist’s messages, the session will be considered cancelled and subject to the late cancellation fee
If the client informs the therapist they are running late, the therapist can hold the appointment for up to 15 minutes before they will have to cancel the session and charge the late fee
The above does not apply to clients who are paying through Medicare
